Exactly how do you find the ideal gift for a loved one? The first thing you should do which many of us don’t is think about the person you are giving the gift to, think about what they need and what they would want instead of finding the gift first then thinking who could you give it to.

You could make sure that the next time you visit them that you have a look around their house to see what they collect or possibly bring into the conversation about things that they like, for instance if your thinking of buying them perfume bring up the subject of perfume, you could say you just brought a new perfume for yourself (or a loved one) and ask them what sort of perfume they wear as you thought it was nice, the same goes if you thinking of buying a bottle of wine for someone, instead of buying what you like, say you were drinking a particular wine the other night and it was really nice, did they know of a wine that you should try next time, undoubtedly they will tell you their favorite wine. If you are not going to see them in time for you to get the gift you could always speak to another person that knows them and ask if they have any gift ideas. 

 

It may seem like a lot of hard work just to buy a gift for someone, but at least you will not have wasted your money on a gift that although you think it’s nice it’s not something they would want or use, and therefore no matter how much of a great gift you think it is it would be a waste of your money.
